Kimono that are color dyed with hand print technique requires the focus of highly skilled craftsmen with knowledge passed down by generation. A single hand-print mold frame for each kimono pattern is 76cm in length.

The technique first requires single color dye to flow into the wooden mold and craftsmen will have to physically push up and down the dye mold. In total, each row of single pattern mold lines to 300m in total. The more color pattern required in a piece of kimono, the more time and effort a craftsman has to put into producing a beautiful piece. Usually a 25m length of hand printed pattern can produce only 2 piece of kimono. For this very reason, mass production is often unattainable.

To ensure the richest kimono shade, two layers of coloration is often required for each color shade on the kimono pattern. Our company values highly on such technique and the color of our kimono we deliver to our customers to be compatible with the kimono material that is used.
